I Love LAM(p)

Lam here, reporting from Ohio University. Wow, technology sure is booming here. It's interesting how fast and easy it can be. I just witnessed a girl in 9inch heels stumbling down Court St. after a long drunken night on Palmer St. You should see the streets lined with interested students watching her.

Buzz Buzz Buzz (phone alert)

Oh and look here, I just got tagged in a YouTube video of this girl. It took approximately three minutes to post this video to the internet for the whole world to see and the video was taken by an ordinary hungover college student. He'll be famous if this video goes viral.

My question is though, why do people think this is funny and why is this public internet appropriate?
One student answers my question, "Because it's funny dude!"

I'm not going to use his answer as an explanation but I do think it's because in this 21st century of technology, we have all lost our sense of apathy. We don't see this girl walking down the street junk as a sad and embarrassing scene for her but as an opportunity to continuously be connected no matter the content.

I think there needs to be an intervention, a whole world-wide-web intervention

Lam reporting from the Athens post, over and out.

  1. Hey there Lam. my name is N. Katherine Hayles, and I would have to agree with your stance on this issue. The media explosion is taking the public away from the experience journalists such as yourself and causing us to follow Bob from down the street who updates his twitter account every ten seconds. These things are by and large not needed and causing us to not be able to focus on any one topic for an extended period of time.
    Keep up the stellar work,
    NKHayles
